There is no fee and most of the trails are groomed. Large hills and challenging terrain makes Fern Park a wonderland for more experienced cross-country skiers. Even inexperienced skiers can manage some of the trails at the entrance or that are best accessed from the trailhead on Limekiln Road. At the 1.8 mile mark there is a 1.4 mile side trail leading to Bubb Lake and then on to Sis Lake. In winter you enter from the trailhead entering to your left onto a short section of snowmobile trail, finding the trail about 100 yards on your left. Although gated, it is marked as skiing allowed.
