- Annual Board Meeting will be conducted virtually in November. The meeting may be open to the full membership.
- Election and Trip Planning Meeting will be held in-person in April.
- Socials will be scheduled each month as people volunteer to lead them, with a mix of lunch and dinner meetings to be scheduled. Email the Events Coordinator if you would like to host a lunch or dinner in your area. Please look for locations that will do separate checks for our group.
- Summer Activities will be held as members volunteer to lead them, under the leadersip of Program Coordinator Jamie Hackman.

May 1, 2026, 5:30 pm – Walk to See Wild Showy Lady Slippers
Join Gil and Mary Ann Linde on Friday, May 1, as they lead a walk in Money Rocks County Park 936 Narvon Rd, Narvon, to seek out wild Showy Lady Slippers, the tallest native northern orchid in the U.S. Meet them in the park’s lot at 5:30 pm.
A casual dinner afterwards at September Farm, 5287 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook.

May 23, 2026, 7:00 pm – Lancaster Symphony at Lititz Springs Park
Join Jamie Hackman on May 23 at 7:00 at Lititz Springs Park where the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert.
It will probably be crowded so plan on getting there early and bring a chair. There are benches but they fill up fast.

June 18, 2026, 10:00 am – Walk Masonic Village Elizabethtown IV
Walk Masonic Village Elizabethtown IV. Starting time 10 AM.
- We’ll leave from the bike racks behind Whisk Cafe, Elizabethtown.
- Parking behind the Whisk near the bike racks.

Last June a group of 10 walked 5.5 miles without leaving the Masonic Village campus. Our walk this year will once again hit the highlights: the Farm Market, formal garden and the underground tunnel. We’ll take a different route than last year and alter the distance based on how far the group would like to walk. It will be in Masonic Village so expect ups and downs. Toilets near the start and along the way.

September 6, 2026, 1:30 pm – Trail Ride/Train Ride, York Heritage Trail
1:30 pm – Meet at Brillhart Station south of York on the York Heritage Rail Trail. We will ride the train which takes bikes and passengers to New Freedom (an hour and a half train ride). From there we will ride our bikes to AleCraft Brewing for refreshments.
After leaving the brewery, we ride the rail trail back to Brillhart Station (16 miles downhill).
Participants would need to purchase train tickets online. Northern Central Railway, Bike Aboard – Brillhart to New Freedom 2PM(www.northerncentralrailway.com under Buy Tickets/Search by Date). Train tickets are $29.

December 9, 2026, 5:00 pm – Holiday Party
Join your fellow Kick ‘n Gliders to celebrate the holidays on December 9 at 5:00 at Bill Hoffman’s house, 624 Candlewyck Road, Lancaster.
Please bring a dish to share and BYOB.
On street parking and a few cars can park on Bill’s driveway. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOT BLOCK ANY MAILBOXES IF YOU ARRIVE PRIOR TO 5:00 AND TO NOT BLOCK ANY DRIVEWAYS.
August 2, 2026, 11:30 am – Hike & Music on the Mountain
Join Rick Begley on August 2 for a moderately paced 4 mile hike (with a bit of a climb) to one of the Scenic Views at the Kings Gap Environmental Training Center in the mountains west of Carlisle. On a clear day you get a really cool view of the Hollow.
Afterwards, enjoy a pleasant afternoon of some good Bluegrass music at the Friends of Kings Gap’s annual “Music on the Mountain” event. Featured will be two bands, the Knuckle Dusters and Bailey’s Crossing.
Meet for the hike at the Training Center parking lot (paved lot before the mansion on the right) at 11:30 for the hike or just show up for the Bands. The music starts at 2pm and the event is rain or shine. The stage is set up in the field across the mansion.
No charge for the music, although donations are very much appreciated. Bring your folding chair or a blanket to sit on, your cooler, snacks and some sunscreen! They often have food trucks and other venders present. You can also explore their environmental garden and the mansion might be open for touring.
